For a while now, I’ve been wanting to make a list of corporations that have announced layoffs and keep a tally of the total number of jobs lost but somehow, never got around to making that list. Anyhow, I figured I couldn’t possibly be the first one on the face of the earth to want to keep track of this, rite? So, some brief googling brought me whats titled “Layoff Tracker”. Just what I’ve been wanting to do! Whats even better is the fact that this tracker looks at the layoffs in the America’s 500 largest public companies!
As of this day, Forbes reports 270, 823 layoffs since November 1st 2008. Thats about 3260 jobs lost every single day. WHOA!
