Nets and the Yankees

The Nets lost to the Heat tonight. Kinda sad to see the Nets turn around at the end of the road and head back home. Was really hopin they’d win…….. but I guess Dwayne Wade turned out to be the nemesis for the Nets throughout the series.
On the brighter side, the yanks won. After trailin 0-9 at the top of the 2nd to the rangers, they came back spectacularly to win the game 14-13 with Jorge Posada hitting a 2 run homer in the bottom on the 9th. One of the better games I’ve seen in recent times!

The F1 and Infinity, Au Fait

The legend races on, maybe for one last year though. The youngest double seasons champion, 84 wins from 233 races. 143 podium finishes in 16 seasons. From Jordan to Ferrari, the man who forced FIA to make changes to the race config to help other drivers and teams catch up is worth getting up a few hours early for. So I was up at a ghostly hour waiting to watch the master start the race from the front of the grid. Formula 1 is back!!! Disappointing to hear the new rules wrt to the engine specs….2.4L from 3L kills the adrenalin a bit…the sweet sound of a 3L 10V engine will probably never be heard again. Ever. Wonder if the popularity of F1 will take a hit. I doubt if it’ll have a serious impact though.
I followed up the race with a movie about Richard Feynman. Titled Infinity, it was a far cry from the image that his books help you paint. Trouble with his image is that no one really knew him for sure….except perhaps Arlene. I doubt if Freeman Dyson knew Richie too well either…..but then he is one of the persons still around to tell us a tale or 2 of the remarkable man. What makes him such a remarkable man is that there is a little bit of Feynman in each of us irrespective of who we are or what we do for a living. His clarity of thought, the need for logic and simplicity stand out. From his experiments with ants to standing upside down to prove that urination is not purely by gravity to the making of the bomb at Los Alamos, his life reveals a very human side of a genius……
I dont think the movie does justice to him…but is worth a watch though.
